Why go 55hp?
I don't see why the "invinci-monk" soloing build should have runes that reduce the monk's health to 55 hp. Say you have 400 hp for instance, each hit will do up to 40 damage, which means 10 hits will kill you. When you have 55 hp, 11 hits will kill you. There is such a small difference, and it's nice to have a larger health pool in an accident.
So why go 55 hp?

Lets say you use Orison of Healing wich gives +40hp.
If you get hit with 400hp 5 times you will go down to 200hp and if you use Orison of Healing you will have 240hp meaning you can get killed in another 6 hits.
If you get hit with 55hp 5 times you will go down to around 30hp and if you use Orison of Healing you will have 55hp meaning you can get killed in another 11 hits.
Was this explanation enough?

The idea is that with positive hp regen (mending and healing breeze) you're healed more than the damage you take, so you always have full hp
(don't listen to tano... that's incorrect )

The 55 build also uses mending and healing breeze, which means the 5 points of damage can be overcome by the healing skills. The down side is that you have to be really careful, let protective go or get hit by a life stealing or other damge ignoring attack and you are dead.
I still prefer my high armor warrior ove my 55 necro for soloing,

Alternatively, if you have a free slot you can always create a new char and get one yourself, and get the -20 item from the Poor Tenant 'Beehive' quest in pre-searing while your there. Some people actually do this as a farm. If you can get a guildie/friend to help you run the one near Ranik, then the Ranik mission, then u'll have to do the Surmia mission properly, then the last one is a short run from Nolani Academy. Make a warrior to do it and you get the Sprint quest just outside Ascalon. With a runner you should have it all done in 2 hours, do it alone and it could take you upto 3 to 4 hours ( probably worth doing the second quest you get with Sprint too).
Alternatively find a guildie who still has the quest open, or volunteer your services in Ranik to help someone in exchange for the quest item.

I wouldn't reccomend using the -20 from poor tenant. I would say go for a more expensive -20 health ankh (a req 8 or 9) with better mods.

Id just like to ask any1 if they've realise that the rod from the collector inside droks is a hell of a lot better than the FFS for 2 reasons
1. its 20%
2. u can do dmg while ur w8ing for SoJ to recharge with ur normal atks rather than do absolutely naff dmg with FFS

FFS gives you a 20% enchanting mod, and in a duo UW game it deals MUCH more damage than any rod.

Um... Unless you're talking about Mark of Pain, you shouldn't be doing any damage with FFS. Since the AoE nerf, Mark of Pain has been deemed useless, as it scatters aggro which can get the necro killed.

I think he's talking about PUG monks who bring Zealot's, spam with it up, and cause the necro the annoyance of having to run away, slowing down the smite run.
I usually tell them to stop once, and if they do it again I leave. I've also had some solo monks partner with me to split entrance, then go off to solo, sometimes trying their hardest to get me killed. I don't waste my time anymore, if they use zealot's after I ask them not to I leave. Simply because they're either idiots who don't understand why enemies are scattering, or they want to solo... not worth my time.

No, i'm talking about attacking an aatxe causing it to use Reposte and Deadly resposte more often, in turn triggering SS more often, which deals more damage.
Its seems to be a little known thing but whatever.

My necro never uses SV (apart from against smites ofc), he knows i can handle them without it - and knows it slows things down.

Im planning to make a monk when factions comes out adn it will eventually be turned into a solo monk
My question is can any one see any merit in being a mo/a for 55 hp monking?
there are some good heals and possibly shadow walking could be helpfull but e management under assasin really call for you to be assasin primary.
the reason i ask is because i am rather lazy and not very fond of the desert.
Edit:here is a good spell but hmm i don't see it replacing spell breaker
Shadow Form Elite Enchantment Spell. For 5...17 seconds, all hostile Spells that target you fail and all attacks against you miss. When Shadow form ends, lose all but 5...41 Health. 5 energy 1 cast time 60 recharge
oh and..
Shroud of Distress Enchantment Spell. for 30 seconds, if you are below 50% Health, you have a 15...63% chance to evade attacks.
